Château de Tracy

Tracy Castle

Loire

Anecdotes from the estate The history of the estate The 32-hectare wine estate stretches across the hillsides of Château de Tracy and Vilmoy, a few kilometers from Pouilly sur Loire. The vineyard is exclusively planted with Sauvignon. The variety of terroirs of the estate (flint or limestone) allows to express all the nobility and strength of this exceptional grape variety. Château de Tracy stands on a rocky spur overlooking the Loire. A manuscript from 1396, kept in the archives of the d'Assay family, mentions the purchase of the Champ de Cri, which is still planted with vines and still belongs to the estate. The current family business was re-established by Count and Countess Alain d'Estutt d'Assay in 1952. Three of their children work on the estate, perpetuating the spirit of quality and excellence that has always prevailed. We practice sustainable viticulture in order to promote environmentally friendly viticulture. The pride of the estate Château de Tracy aims to produce quality wines by practicing rigorous and healthy viticulture and oenology. For nineteen years, we have implemented a management approach that respects the natural balance of our vineyard as much as possible. We favor the resources and natural regulation mechanisms of ecosystems as well as non-polluting agricultural practices. This approach has been rewarded by the certification of our Estate "High Environmental Value" Level III. During the harvest, particular attention is paid to the selection of the best grapes. The juices are selected at the exit of the press and each plot is vinified separately. We have also refined our oenological interventions to preserve the quality of our Pouilly Fumé as much as possible.
