Château d'Hugues

Hugues' Castle

Anecdotes from the Estate: I arrived in 2005 as Head of Vineyard Operations, and since October 2017, I have been the proud owner. A childhood dream come true: to be able to share my passion for wine, vines, and local produce! Sharing a good time over a good glass of wine—what could be more pleasant?! The Estate's History: The Château takes its name from the family name of Hugues, originally from Languedoc, who had it built in the 1690s. Several generations succeeded one another until 1869, when the Pradier family acquired it. In 1988, the winery was established, and since 2017, Grégory Payan has been its owner. The Estate's Pride: "A Place, a Terroir, a History!" In the heart of the Southern Rhône Valley, in the commune of Uchaux, lies the small Château d'Hugues winery. The vineyard is situated on the southern slope of the hills of the "Massif d'Uchaux". The harvest is entirely manual and then transported to the cellar in small crates to avoid damaging the grapes.
