Château La Rame
Anecdotes from the Estate: The Armand family has always been dedicated to producing great wines. It's such a consuming passion that it becomes the focus of the entire family, the main topic of conversation. This is how the knowledge acquired over the years has been naturally passed down through the generations. Without compromise or sharing, quality comes first! The history of the La Rame estate (meaning "the Rock" in Old French): During the French Revolution, it was owned by the Baron de Vertheuil, Governor of the Île d'Oléron and Lord of La Rame. Cited among the oldest and most renowned wines of the appellation, it was considered a Premier Cru Classé by the wine trade at the beginning of the 20th century. The pride of the estate: Château La Rame, facing due south on clay-limestone slopes composed of fossilized oyster beds from the Tertiary period, has been managed by Angélique and Grégoire Armand since 2009. They have found the perfect balance between time-honored methods and new technologies, all while remaining committed to producing environmentally responsible wines. As top-tier artisans dedicated to quality, they strive for this ultimate goal: to produce haute couture wines that deliver pleasure and unforgettable moments.
