Haute-Sage, a building listed as a historical monument, overlooks the vineyard and has always been managed and nurtured by women. Today, Dany is the 10th Lady of Haute-Sage... and her two granddaughters, Eva and Alice, surely have a future to pursue here. The estate's history: At the helm of the estate since 1997, my mother-in-law, Dany, still oversees the vineyard with a master's touch and incredible dynamism. Michel, her husband, a trained oenologist and, above all, a distiller, has been with her on this adventure from the very beginning. Today, it's my turn to become part of the estate's story: I took over the reins and have been managing this family property for over three years now. It's a dynamic duo, mother-in-law and daughter-in-law, that works so well: two generations with different experiences but a shared passion, a desire to combine our skills, and a common commitment to nurturing and developing this family estate. So, I came to the world of wine through love… first and foremost for the man who became my husband and the father of my children… and then for the love of wine itself, which grew with each tasting. The pride of the estate: Located atop the hills overlooking the right bank of the Garonne, Château Peneau is a family-owned vineyard spanning nearly 30 hectares. In the heart of the Bordeaux vineyards and the Cadillac Côtes de Bordeaux appellation, the property extends over gravelly and clay-limestone soils, from which balanced, charming and authentic wines are born.
