Tercesne Castle
Anecdotes from the Estate: Being a winemaker means loving your land. It means working the vines and the wine every day to make them beautiful and delicious. Harvest day represents the culmination of the winemaker's work in the vineyard, but also the beginning of their work in the cellar. Finally, being a winemaker means being able to share the fruits of your land with others. The Estate's Story: In 2015, we had the opportunity to realize Jean-François's dream: to become owners of a vineyard in the Médoc. The Tercesne adventure began. Children of the Médoc, although not from a winemaking family, we wanted, one day, to produce our own wine and market our own label. It is above all a family story, since our three children are all involved in the adventure. The name Tercesne is proof of this. We chose it together. It's also a friendly adventure: we are advised, supported, encouraged, and helped by our family and friends. The harvest is, in fact, the highlight. The pride of the estate, the château, is located in the commune of Saint-Estèphe in the Médoc. It comprises four plots planted primarily with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, with a few rows of Petit Verdot. The harvest and leaf removal are done by hand. The terroir is a mixture of gravel, sand, and alluvial deposits from the nearby Gironde estuary. This blend gives our wine its aroma, typical of the Saint-Estèphe appellation. Tercesne wine is a blend of equal parts Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. A touch of Petit Verdot gives our production of 2,500 bottles its aromatic intensity.
