Domaine Laporte is located in Saint-Satur, on the banks of the Loire River, and produces organic Sancerre wines from selected vineyard plots. Anecdotes from the estate: Our "Les Terranges" plot, situated at the top of the hillside in Saint-Satur, was one of the first vineyards planted by the Benedictine monks of the Abbey of Saint-Satur in the 15th century. Local legend tells of a monk who once saw an angel while walking in the vineyard, and that angels have been seen there from time to time ever since; hence the name "Les Terranges." A little history of the estate: Founded in 1850, Domaine Laporte is located in the heart of the village of Saint-Satur, on the banks of the Loire River, and our cellars are situated on a geological fault facing the village of Sancerre. The estate has evolved with the times, vintage after vintage, and our 30-hectare vineyard has been farmed organically since 2008. The plot-by-plot vinification, historically practiced at the estate, is a distinctive element, the foundation of the reputation of our Laporte wines.
