Domaine Solence

Loire

Anecdotes from the Estate: Organic viticulture, a choice born from a very strong conviction from the very beginning of Domaine Solence, is guaranteed by the European Ecocert label. Our guiding principle: to work with nature, not against it. Jean-Luc's commitment to organic wine has always aimed to broaden its reach. He co-founded a regional association and actively participated in the creation of a national federation of organic wines, the FNIVAB. Locally, Jean-Luc is the founding president of Bios Ventoux, an association that now brings together twelve organic winegrowers located around Mont Ventoux. A Brief History of the Estate: Domaine Solence is a 14-hectare estate at the foot of Mont Ventoux. Since the estate's creation in 1992, the vines have been cultivated organically, making Anne-Marie and Jean-Luc Isnard the first organic winegrowers in the Ventoux appellation. Our vineyards are spread across a terroir encompassing two very distinct geological identities. The first section consists of alluvial, calcareous, and highly permeable soils, where our Syrah, Grenache, and Marselan grapes thrive. The second section is characterized by shallow, silty-clay soils, which are also cooler and whose minerality makes them ideal for white and rosé wines. Each plot undergoes separate vinification, and each cuvée is then created by blending the grapes from these plots. The wine is born and aged in stainless steel tanks and barrels, with meticulous attention paid to monitoring fermentation temperatures. The wines are elegant, seductive, and luscious.
