Our opinion on the vintage
An elegant nose of cherry, raspberry, and subtle woody notes. A fine, silky, and balanced palate. A persistent and refined finish.
Established in 1990, Domaine Olivier Gard is run by Manuel Olivier in the Hautes-Côtes de Nuits, in the immediate vicinity of Vosne-Romanée. The estate now spans approximately 11 hectares, spread between the Hautes-Côtes and the Côte de Nuits, with a focus on viticulture.
The vineyard notably includes a plot of Aligoté, a grape variety historically established in the area and closely linked to the local cultivation of small fruits. This regional tradition — blackcurrants, raspberries, strawberries — is still alive, with the family continuing to cultivate and directly sell these fruits, emblematic of the Hautes-Côtes.
The white wines from these old Aligoté vines are fermented in vats, with a focus on freshness and precision. They are distinguished by direct and mineral profiles, with floral expressions and a marked sense of vivacity. The Vieilles Vignes cuvée exemplifies this approach, offering a frank, sparkling, and balanced white wine, recognized for its clarity
