Our opinion on the cuvée
This Morgon displays a ruby red color with violet hues. On the nose, delicate aromas of red berries emerge, accompanied by spicy notes. On the palate, it offers a fleshy and structured attack, providing a beautiful texture. This wine will perfectly complement poultry, white meats, or even a convivial winter raclette. Best served between 16 and 18°C, it can be enjoyed now and cellared for up to 7 years.
Domaine K. Descombes was born from the transmission and passion for wine, learned alongside Georges Descombes, an emblematic figure of Beaujolais. Kevin settled on the estate in 2013 after taking over a portion of the family vineyards, with the desire to forge his own path. Across 6 hectares in Beaujolais, Beaujolais-Villages, and Morgon, he cultivates Gamay with a sustainable approach and extensive manual labor, from winter plowing to summer care. For him, wine is a jewel of nature: each cuvée is unique and reveals a facet of the terroir. Vinifications are carried out without additives, resulting in crisp, fresh, and authentic natural wines. Located in the heart of Villié-Morgon, Kevin Descombes offers vibrant cuvées with a distinct personality that are definitely worth exploring.
