Our opinion on the cuvée
This Moulin à Vent offers an enticing nose, blending notes of well-ripened red fruits. On the palate, its silky texture caresses, giving way to a delicate harmony. Perfectly balanced, it will beautifully complement a leg of lamb or a rib of beef. An authentic wine to enjoy now or to cellar for a few years.
The Perrachon et Fils estate is a historic vineyard located in Juliénas (69840) since 1877. The Perrachon family has been cultivating vines there for several generations, with Laurent and Martine Perrachon now at the helm, assisted by their sons Adrien and Maxime. The estate spans several Beaujolais crus, including Juliénas, Morgon, Moulin-à-Vent, Chénas, Fleurie, and Saint-Amour, as well as Beaujolais Villages. Traditional methods are employed, including manual harvesting and goblet pruning, with yields intentionally kept low to prioritize quality.
The wines produced cover a range of classic red and rosé Beaujolais crus, as well as some special cuvées. I did not find precise details on winemaking practices, exact historical dates prior to 1877, or the estate's formal environmental certifications.
