Domaine Colombo
Located in the Rhône Valley, Domaine Colombo was built around Jean-Luc Colombo's passion for wine and gastronomy. Owning vineyards to the north in Cornas and Saint-Péray, as well as further south near the Côte Bleue, he has been crafting wines in his own image since the late 1980s: precise, authentic, and deeply rooted in their terroir.
Coming from a family background steeped in cuisine and the pleasures of the table, Jean-Luc naturally gravitated towards oenology. With his wife Anne, he founded the Centre Œnologique des Côtes du Rhône in Cornas, all while nurturing a dream: to become a winemaker. This project took shape in the early 1980s with the purchase of a first hillside plot of old vines overlooking Cornas.
In 1987, the first vintage of the estate's emblematic cuvée, Les Ruchets, was born, leaving a lasting mark on Colombo's identity in Cornas. Over the years, the vineyard expanded, and the approach became more refined: reasoned viticulture, attentive to natural balances, serving authentic and expressive wines.
Today, transmission is at the heart of the family project. Laure Colombo, an oenologist and avid traveler, joined the estate in 2010. She brings a new sensibility and develops her own cuvées, such as her Saint-Péray La Belle de Mai, while also embracing bold collaborations. Domaine Colombo thus embodies a vibrant, gastronomic, and forward-looking vision of the Rhône, without ever denying its roots.
