B Corp certified since October 2018
Doing Business Differently to Make a Positive Impact
10,000 companies around the world have chosen to measure their impact rather than just promise it. We’ve been one of them since 2018.
Our Certification
What is the B Corp certification?
B Corp certifies companies that incorporate measurable social and environmental goals into their business model. More than 10,000 companies in 100 countries, including 600 in France.
At Les Grappes: certified in October 2018, recertified in April 2023, with a score of 80.9 points —compared to an average of 50.9 for ordinary companies.
Our 2023 Score
80.9 points across 5 pillars, verified and public
The B Impact Assessment evaluates each company across five dimensions: governance, workers, community, environment, and customers. To be certified, a company must score at least 80 out of 200 points—the median score for typical companies that undergo the assessment is 50.9 points.
Our results are verified by B Lab and published on bcorporation.net. Transparency isn't an option—it's a requirement for certification.
Pillars 1 & 2
Governance · Workers
Governance — 14.6 points
Our direct distribution model is recognized by B Lab as an Impact Business Model—which means that the way we do business creates social value in and of itself, independent of our CSR initiatives. Our mission, enshrined in our articles of incorporation, along with our ethics and transparency, round out this pillar.
Workers — 22.4 pts
We place special emphasis on the professional growth of our teams—through open communication, internal promotions, and a non-discrimination policy at every stage of the HR process. An Employee Handbook outlines the framework for our workplace. We were awarded the “Happy at Work” certification in 2017.
Pillars 3, 4, and 5
Community — 18.8 pts · Environment — 22.1 pts · Customers — 2.9 pts
Community: Direct impact on winemakers who harvest their own grapes and retain 80% of their profit margin. Diversity, inclusion, and a responsible supply chain.
Environment: Our Strongest Pillar. Carbon footprint assessment conducted in 2022; 66% of our products meet certified environmental standards.
Customers: 2.9 points — our acknowledged weakness and a priority area for the next recertification.
Our Progress
80.1 in 2018. 80.9 in 2023. What's next?
Certification is renewed every three years based on a set of standards that are constantly evolving—which requires us to make real progress in order to maintain our score. We are currently in the process of recertification.
In 2022, we conducted our first carbon footprint assessment with Greenly (Scopes 1, 2, and 3; 2020 data). It directly informs our roadmap for the next assessment.
Our mission
A model designed to benefit everyone
By enabling winemakers to sell directly and retain 80% of their profit margin, we create value where traditional distribution channels squeeze it out. This is the very essence of our Impact Business Model, recognized by B Lab.
Today: 1,200 winegrowers, 66% of whom follow environmental practices, with their wines distributed in France and throughout Europe.
Our Founding Commitment
"Using business as a force for good"
By signing the B Corp Declaration of Interdependence, we make a legal commitment to consider all of our stakeholders—winemakers, employees, customers, and the planet—not just our shareholders.
That is why we founded Les Grappes in 2014. Our B Corp certification is proof of that.
