Our opinion on the cuvée
This rosé wine presents a pale pink color with a slight brick hue. On the nose, it reveals notes of white flowers and crisp red berries. On the palate, it is lively and spicy, with a blackcurrant finish. Its beautiful aromatic persistence makes it an ideal companion for tapas, grilled dishes, or fresh seasonal salads.
Located within the Cabardès appellation area, about ten kilometers west of Carcassonne, Maison Ventenac is a family estate nestled against the foothills of the Montagne Noire. The vineyard spans approximately 135 hectares and is currently undergoing organic conversion, with particular attention paid to soil management and environmental preservation.
Taken over by Olivier and Stéphanie Ventenac, the estate strives to achieve a clear and direct expression of Cabardès grapes, a transitional region between Atlantic and Mediterranean influences. Winemaking aims to minimize artifice, favoring precise aging methods tailored to each cuvée's profile. Depending on the wine, vessels vary between tanks, large-capacity foudres, and amphorae, to refine textures without masking the fruit's expression.
