Our opinion on the cuvée
This Altesse wine displays a pale golden-yellow hue and reveals delicate aromas of white flowers and peach on the nose. On the palate, its complexity and generosity unfold with remarkable length and spicy notes. The finish is characterized by ripe fruits, offering a harmonious and pleasant sensory experience. Perfect as an aperitif or paired with freshwater fish and white meats, this wine will satisfy the most discerning palates.
Located in the commune of Jongieux, Savoie, Domaine Carrel & Senger is part of an ancient viticultural history, documented in this area since the 16th century. The estate is situated on the left bank of the Rhône, between the river and Lake Bourget, on the calcareous-marly foothills of Mont du Chat.
The vineyard spans approximately 33 hectares, predominantly planted on steep slopes, particularly on the Cru Marestel, the historic terroir of the Altesse grape variety, which produces the most structured Roussettes de Savoie. These challenging, steep hillsides, however, provide optimal sun exposure and gradual ripening, fostering precise and balanced expressions.
