Domaine Julien Pilon

Rhône Valley | France

Hailing from the Rhône Valley, Julien Pilon is a passionate winemaker who built his estate around a quest for purity, finesse, and authentic expression of the northern terroirs. After formative experiences with major houses and winemakers, from the Rhône Valley to Languedoc and then Spain, he launched his personal project in 2010, vinifying his first vintage in his parents' garage before gradually establishing his own winery in Chavanay, in the heart of the region.

The estate cultivates a wide variety of prestigious appellations from the Northern Rhône, for both white and red wines, ranging from Condrieu, Saint-Péray, Saint-Joseph and Hermitage for whites, to Saint-Joseph, Côte-Rôtie and Cornas for reds.

Julien's philosophy is based on respecting natural balances and delicate vinification. Harvests are predominantly manual, fermentations are precisely supervised, and aging, often in barrels or demi-muids, is designed to accompany the wine without masking the expression of fruit and terroir.

His white wines, crafted from emblematic grape varieties such as Viognier, Marsanne, and Roussanne, are distinguished by vibrant tension, great aromatic finesse, and remarkable purity. They combine freshness, minerality, and texture, revealing the unique character of the region's granitic and clay-limestone soils.

The reds, primarily made from Syrah, combine elegance, aromatic depth, and balanced structure. Each appellation is approached with particular care, allowing local expressions (spices, dark fruits, peppery or floral notes) to naturally flourish.

Julien Pilon's range also extends to original and poetic cuvées, which tell stories of places, memories, and personal inspirations, while reflecting a consistent and demanding approach.
