Expert Opinion
This wine boasts a deep, intense purple color with violet hues. On the nose, it reveals mineral aromas of chalk and flint, enhanced by notes of coconut, fresh spices, and tobacco. On the palate, the balance is perfect, with fine tannins and natural acidity that bring freshness and liveliness. The finish reveals roasted aromas that prolong the pleasure of tasting. A rich and complex wine, both light and full of character.

Domaine La Font des Pères

Domaine La Font des Pères

Provence | France

Located on the heights of Le Beausset, a few kilometers from Bandol, Domaine La Font des Pères is set within a landscape of steep terraces, patiently shaped over centuries. Here, the vine is never separated from its location: it interacts with the slope, the stone, and the light, in an environment as demanding as it is spectacular.

The site's history dates back to the 16th century, when Observant monks settled on these lands rich in natural springs. They developed food crops and the first vineyards there, giving the place its name: 'la Font' for water, and 'les Pères' for those who cultivated it. This historical dimension continues to shape the estate's identity, deeply rooted in its environment.

The contemporary adventure began in 2010, when Caroline and Philippe Chauvin fell under the spell of this secluded site. Originally more familiar with the sea than the land, they immediately perceived the potential of the terroir and its exposure. The 6 hectares of vines, clinging to the hillsides, are gradually being revitalized with a careful approach, respectful of the terrain and living organisms.

Today, the wines are produced under the Bandol, Côtes de Provence, and IGP Mont-Caume appellations, with the entire estate managed under organic farming principles. The cuvées reflect the sunny character of the region while maintaining true integrity: straightforward, structured textures, supported by a welcome freshness, a direct reflection of the work on the soils and the relative altitude of the plots.

However, La Font des Pères is not limited to wine. The estate develops a holistic vision of hospitality, where tasting, gastronomy, and landscape are in constant dialogue. The farm-inn restaurant, nestled in the heart of the vineyards, offers cuisine conceived as a natural extension of the cuvées: clear, rooted in the product, without seeking artificial effects.

At La Font des Pères, wine is never isolated. It is part of a context, a moment, a table, a panorama. The experience is based on this balance between viticultural rigor, gastronomic pleasure, and assumed simplicity. A unique destination where the place shapes both the wine and the way it is shared.
