Our opinion on the cuvée
This sparkling wine has a pale yellow color and fine bubbles that tickle the palate. The nose reveals notes of green apple, while the effervescence carries light, fresh aromas. On the palate, a light acidity blends with flavors of lime and citrus, offering a refreshing and invigorating experience. Perfect for a light and refreshing aperitif.
In the heart of the Saumur appellation, the Domaine du Moulin de l'Horizon spans 30 hectares around the hill that gives it its name—one of the highest points in the Saumur region, at an elevation of 110 meters. Founded in 2002 by Hervé and Christine—a couple from northern France who left their hometown to become winemakers—the estate embodies a beautiful story of passion and deep-rooted connection to the land.
Cabernet Franc (50%), Chenin Blanc (30%), and Chardonnay (20%) produce wines in all three colors, as well as a range of sparkling wines made entirely on-site. The sparkling wines, resulting from a second fermentation in the bottle in the estate’s cellars, offer precise and consistent cuvées centered on Chenin and Chardonnay. A long-standing partner, with an accessible and balanced style.
