Our opinion on the cuvée
This dry, crisp white wine offers subtle aromas of exotic fruits and white flowers on the nose. On the palate, its light texture and liveliness bring a lovely freshness, with citrus notes and a hint of minerality on the finish. Ideal with seafood and grilled fish, it evokes moments of summery conviviality in good company.
Florian Le Capitaine is a young winemaker based in Rochecorbon, within the Vouvray appellation (Loire). He cultivates approximately 6 hectares of vines on clay-limestone soils and manages his vineyard using organic farming practices, with conversion or biodynamic methods, without herbicides or insecticides, working the soil mechanically. He comes from a family of winemakers and worked for several years at the family estate before establishing his own operation.
The wines produced are primarily white wines based on Chenin Blanc, including cuvées such as Les Aumônes (dry or off-dry), vinified with minimal intervention and aged on lees. The practices implemented reflect a low-intervention approach and a quest for the pure expression of the Vouvray terroir.
