Our opinion on the cuvée
A garnet color with brilliant reflections. A delicate nose of red fruits (sour cherries), black fruits (blackcurrant), and menthol notes. Present tannins, round and melted on a very beautiful, luscious, and fresh fruit, revealing a finish full of freshness.
Established in 1781, Domaine de la Dourbie is located on the right bank of the Hérault river, at the foot of the Causse du Larzac. The estate takes its name from the Dourbie, a local river that flows through the vineyard before joining the Hérault. This geographical position places the estate in a transitional zone, benefiting from both Mediterranean influences and cooler climates associated with higher altitude.
The vineyard has been managed organically since 2009 and is divided into two distinct sections. Approximately 20 hectares surround the main estate, while a second plot of about 12 hectares is situated at nearly 300 meters above sea level in the Rouveyrolles valley. This area, surrounded by garrigue, benefits from a more temperate microclimate, promoting gradual ripening and naturally fresher balances.
