Domaine Ménard Gaborit

Bourgogne

Located in the heart of the Muscadet Sèvre-et-Maine appellation, Domaine Ménard-Gaborit is one of the historic references in the Nantes vineyards. The estate is now run by the Ménard-Gaborit family, heirs to several generations of winemakers dedicated to a precise and demanding interpretation of Melon de Bourgogne. The vineyard is cultivated organically, with particular attention paid to soil life and terroir expression.

The plots primarily rest on gneiss and amphibolite soils, two major geological signatures of the sector, which give the wines their saline framework, their linearity, and their aging potential. Vineyard work aims for controlled yields and optimal ripeness, in order to preserve the grape variety's natural freshness while gaining depth.

In the cellar, vinifications are carried out with indigenous yeasts, without seeking artificiality. Aging on lees, often extended, is a pillar of the estate's style: it brings texture, stability, and progressive complexity, without ever making the profiles heavy. Bottlings are designed to allow the wine to develop over time, with some cuvées clearly benefiting from aging.

The wines of Domaine Ménard-Gaborit are distinguished by their balance between tension, salinity, and controlled amplitude. Single-vineyard cuvées offer a subtle interpretation of the soils, while blends reflect a coherent and legible vision of Muscadet. Always linear, precise, and digestible, these wines are suitable for both gastronomic approaches and simpler uses, where freshness and clarity prevail.

A solid and consistent address for appreciating Muscadet in its most accomplished version, faithful to its landscape and identity, without compromise or trendy effects.
