Clos Joseph is a red wine from the Minervois AOP appellation, produced by the Clos Joseph estate, a family-owned vineyard run by the Escoï family in the Languedoc region. The Minervois terroir combines Mediterranean influences, varied soils (schist, limestone, gravel), and well-oriented exposures, allowing the local grape varieties—often Syrah, Grenache, and Carignan—to produce wines that are powerful, ripe, and well-structured.

Our opinion on the cuvée
An intense nose of black fruits and Mediterranean spices. Generous, structured, and warm on the palate. A long, rich finish.
Domaine Montaude is a family-run venture based in Roquecourbe-Minervois, where four generations of winemakers have shaped the estate’s identity. It all began with Joseph, the great-grandfather who arrived in France after fleeing the Spanish dictatorship, and who purchased his first vineyards before passing on his passion to his descendants. The estate has grown over the generations, and today Philippe and Patricia, joined by their son Thomas, carry on this legacy by embracing digital technology and expanding into export markets. The estate’s vineyards span 9 hectares of gently sloping hillsides and terraces on the “balconies of the Aude,” planted with traditional grape varieties such as Carignan, Grenache, Syrah, and Cinsault, complemented by Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc. The wines, classified as AOP Minervois and Vins de Pays, authentically reflect this Mediterranean terroir. Committed to sustainable viticulture and in the process of converting to organic farming since
