Famille Hauller
Located in Dambach-la-Ville, Alsace, the Hauller Family boasts a long family history, documented since the 18th century. Long recognized for its cooperage expertise, the family produced large Alsatian oak vats for several generations before definitively shifting its focus to viticulture in the mid-20th century.
In 1960, Louis Hauller committed the estate to crafting Alsace wines, with a clear desire to prioritize elegance, varietal clarity, and balanced precision. This direction marked a lasting turning point in the estate's identity, today carried forward by Ludovic and Guillaume Hauller, representatives of the twelfth family generation.
The work is shared between vineyard management and wine valorization. The plots are carefully monitored to obtain ripe yet balanced grapes, with respect for the soils and natural rhythms. Alsatian grape varieties, particularly Riesling, hold a central place in the vineyard's varietal composition, with a constant pursuit of freshness and aromatic clarity.
In the cellar, vinifications aim for clarity of expression and consistency, without seeking artificial effects or ostentation. The aging processes allow the wines to find their balance naturally, maintaining straightforward, approachable profiles true to their origin. The Hauller Family's style prioritizes drinkability, precision, and a convivial approach to wine, designed for both sharing and dining.
The Hauller Family thus embodies a rare continuity in the Alsatian wine region, where the transmission of expertise, local roots, and stylistic consistency enable the creation of clear and coherent wines, deeply connected to their terroir and a long artisanal history.
