Jacques Frelin Vineyards

Loire

Jacques Frelin Vignobles is considered a pioneer of French organic wine. As early as the 1960s, long before organic farming became a marketing selling point, the Frelin family began to question the impact of agricultural practices and started cultivating their vineyards without the use of chemicals.

In 1983, Jacques Frelin took a decisive step by producing 100% organic wines. Although organic farming was still a niche practice at the time, it seemed like a natural choice to him: respect for nature, people, and the product. He thus became one of the leading advocates for organic wine in France.

With deep roots in the south of France, the company has spent more than thirty years developing a range of organic red, white, and rosé wines, sourced primarily from the Languedoc and Ardèche regions, in close collaboration with winemakers who share the same values. Mediterranean grape varieties, fruit-forward profiles, and authenticity guide every selection.

In 2020, the family returned to winemaking by becoming growers again, gradually acquiring carefully selected plots of land. Their goal remains the same: to produce authentic and accessible organic wines that stay true to their founding values and look toward a sustainable future.
