Our opinion on the cuvée
This wine presents a complex nose, blending fruity, smoky, toasted, and spicy aromas that evolve over the years. On the palate, it is ample and silky, with a beautiful structure and remarkable length. The finish subtly reveals woody notes that complete the ensemble. Perfect for accompanying feathered game, wine-cooked meats, or strong cheeses, it will delight connoisseurs of elegant and structured wines.
Established in 1990, Domaine Olivier Gard is managed by Manuel Olivier in the Hautes-Côtes de Nuits, in the immediate vicinity of Vosne-Romanée. The estate now spans approximately 11 hectares, divided between the Hautes-Côtes and the Côte de Nuits, with a strong focus on viticulture.
The vineyard notably includes an Aligoté parcel, a grape variety historically planted in the area and closely linked to the local cultivation of berries. This regional tradition — blackcurrants, raspberries, strawberries — remains vibrant, with the family continuing to cultivate and directly sell these fruits, emblematic of the Hautes-Côtes.
The white wines produced from these old Aligoté vines are vinified in vats, in pursuit of freshness and precision. They are distinguished by their linear and mineral profiles, with floral expressions and a distinct sense of liveliness.
