Patrice du Jeu, a former restaurateur and cattle breeder, has undertaken a monumental task to breathe new life into a 12-hectare estate nestled between the Côte Chalonnaise and the Côte de Beaune. Thanks to its diverse vineyard plots, each wine from this eclectic estate reflects the unique characteristics of the region's terroirs. The Mercurey Premier Cru Clos Marcilly, a single-vineyard wine, is a must-try. Every wine, whether from the Côte de Beaune or the Côte Chalonnaise, offers a unique experience thanks to the meticulous work carried out in the vineyards. The wines from this estate have won over several leading guides and our team, attesting to their undeniable quality.

Our opinion on the vintage
This red wine is intensely flavored with its deep purple hue. On the nose, it reveals powerful aromas of dark fruits such as blackberry and plum, complemented by subtle notes of spice. On the palate, its supple and fleshy attack gives way to a beautiful volume, supported by silky, well-integrated tannins. The balance is perfect thanks to a lively acidity, and the luscious finish invites you to savor every sip. Perfect to accompany charcuterie or white meat dishes, this wine is sure to delight those who appreciate a great discovery.
Les Héritiers Saint-Genys embodies the unique journey of Patrice du Jeu, a former restaurateur who became a winemaker out of passion and conviction. In 2010, he took over a neglected 12-hectare estate between the Côte de Beaune and the Côte Chalonnaise, which he completely restructured with exacting standards and humility. The estate cultivates a wide variety of parcels, from Chassagne-Montrachet to Santenay, extending into the Côte Chalonnaise, with one notable exception: the Mercurey Premier Cru Clos Marcilly monopole. Each wine expresses its terroir, from the approachable Bourgogne Aligoté to the more structured Premier Crus. The wines, praised by several guides, reflect the same rigorous approach for each appellation. Being a winemaker in Chassagne-Montrachet remains an honor for Patrice, one he strives to earn every day.
