Established in 1926 in the hamlet of Chaudoux, in the commune of Verdigny, Domaine Fournier Père & Fils is one of the historic estates of the Sancerre appellation. The vineyard now covers approximately 39 hectares, divided into 165 plots scattered across all the hills and slopes of the appellation area.
This plot fragmentation allows the estate to work with the three main types of Sancerre terroir—limestone, marl, and flint—offering a diversity of soils, exposures, and microclimates. This balanced distribution is an important lever for the consistency and complexity of the wines, vintage after vintage.
Vineyard management is carried out with an environmentally friendly approach, with practices certified High Environmental Value (HVE) and Vignerons Engagés. The work of the soil and the vine aims to preserve the balance of the plant and the readability of the terroirs, without seeking excessive technical intervention.
