Château de Nages - Famille Gassier

Château de Nages - Famille Gassier

Rhône Valley | France

Located in the southern Rhône Valley, Château de Nages, managed by the Gassier Family, is situated on the Costières de Nîmes terroirs. The estate is run by Michel Gassier, the fourth family generation, who took over full-time management in the early 1990s.

The vineyard has been managed organically for many years, with a focus on soil preservation, vine balance, and consistent ripeness. The plots lie on terroirs of rolled pebbles and deep soils, characteristic of the area, favoring structured yet balanced wines.

In recent years, the estate has progressively transitioned towards regenerative agricultural practices, aiming to improve soil fertility and biodiversity. This approach notably involves limiting soil tillage, implementing cover crops, diversifying cultivation, and occasionally integrating animals into the plots. This transition is part of a long-term vision focused on vineyard resilience.

Winemaking aims to preserve the legibility of Mediterranean grape varieties and the expression of the terroirs, with controlled extractions and aging tailored to the desired profiles. All the cuvées offer a structured and coherent interpretation of Costières de Nîmes, combining ripeness, freshness, and precision.

Since 2022, Isabel Gassier has joined the estate, supporting this evolution in agricultural practices and contributing to the continuity of the family project.
