Established in 1926 in the hamlet of Chaudoux, within the commune of Verdigny, Domaine Fournier Père & Fils is one of the historic estates of the Sancerre appellation. Today, the vineyard spans approximately 39 hectares, divided into 165 plots scattered across the hills and slopes of the appellation area.
This plot fragmentation allows the estate to cultivate the three main types of Sancerre terroirs — limestone, marl, and flint — offering a diversity of soils, exposures, and microclimates. This balanced distribution is a significant factor in ensuring the consistency and complexity of the wines, vintage after vintage.
Vineyard management adheres to an environmentally friendly approach, with practices certified High Environmental Value (HVE) and Vignerons Engagés (Committed Winemakers). Soil and vine work aims to preserve the plant's balance and the distinctiveness of the terroirs, without resorting to excessive technical intervention.
