Our opinion on the cuvée
With a garnet color and ruby highlights, this wine reveals an expressive nose of red fruits and wild berries. On the palate, it is round and fruity, offering a truly delightful experience. Perfect for pairing with simple, authentic cuisine, it will also be a delight for a dinner aperitif. A true pleasure for the palate to be enjoyed without delay.
Established in Saint-Lager since 1947, nestled in the heart of the Beaujolais crus, Domaine des Fournelles represents a family legacy spanning three generations. Here, there's no pursuit of expansion or an increase in appellations; the choice is clear and intentional. The estate focuses solely on two crus, Brouilly and Côte de Brouilly, to fully express their unique character.
These two appellations, though often confused, are rooted in distinctly different terroirs. The estate meticulously enhances their value through traditional Beaujolais vinification, a method perfectly suited to the black Gamay with white juice, the sole grape variety cultivated here. Planted on the hillsides of Brouilly mountain's southeast slope, the vines benefit from optimal sun exposure, imparting depth and aromatic richness to the wines. Harvesting is carried out exclusively by hand.
Taken over by Guillaume in 2015, the estate currently covers a small, deliberately managed area.
