Our opinion on the cuvée
This wine presents a beautiful ruby color and reveals an intense nose with aromas of blackberry and blackcurrant. On the palate, it is velvety with melted tannins, leading to a very pleasant fruity persistence. Its well-sustained finish brings a true finesse to this wine, perfect for accompanying grilled meats and lamb chops. Best enjoyed at an ideal temperature of 13-14°C, it will delight palates seeking subtlety.
Domaine du Séminaire is a family vineyard located in Valréas (84600, Vaucluse) in the Enclave des Papes, north of the Rhône Valley. It covers approximately 60 hectares of vines at an altitude of 300 to 400 meters on clay-limestone and 'saffres' soils. Viticulture is organic and close to biodynamic practices. The winery, built in 1938, has been modernized over time, and harvests are manual.
The estate produces red, white, and rosé wines under the Côtes-du-Rhône and Côtes-du-Rhône Villages Valréas appellations, using Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Carignan, Viognier, Roussanne, Marsanne, Clairette, and Grenache Blanc grape varietals. Winemaking prioritizes indigenous yeasts and minimal intervention. The Pouizin family represents the fourth generation of winemakers, and the estate has had a tasting room open since 2007.
