Château Guilhem

Soleil Orange

Wine of France | Orange | NM

Château Guilhem, a family estate since 1878, cultivates its 35 hectares of vines using organic farming methods in Malviès, between Limoux and Carcassonne. The Atlantic grape varieties (Merlot, Cabernets, Malbec) reflect the influence of the Malepère massif, ensuring a unique freshness in the wines. Natural vinification and aging in sandstone jars have given birth to a wine with a beautiful natural orange color, stemming from a family history and an exceptional terroir.

Our opinion on the cuvée

This orange-hued wine reveals surprising aromas from the first nose. It offers notes of fresh almonds, juicy mango, and candied mandarins. On the palate, the texture is both rich and balanced, with a hint of spice that adds beautiful complexity. The unique aging process of this wine imparts slightly oxidative sensations, which nonetheless harmonize perfectly with its fruity notes. Perfect for accompanying your refined and exotic dishes, this wine will transport you on a unique sensory journey.

This choice gives the wines a unique profile within the Languedoc landscape, often described as 'another Languedoc,' where freshness and structure take precedence over solar richness.

The soils play a central role in the balance of the wines. The Malepère massif takes its name from a friable rock, poor in suitability for construction but particularly ... Read more
