Quincy

Halfway between the Loire and Burgundy, the Quincy wine region stretches along the left bank of the Cher River. Its terroir consists of Sauvignon Blanc, which may be blended with Gris. The vineyard covers an area of 230 hectares and produces 10,500 hectoliters per year. The vineyard plots are located at an elevation of 125 meters on the wine-growing plateaus overlooking the Loire Valley. The climate is generally dry and warm, with sandy and gravelly soils. Planting density must always exceed 5,500 vines per hectare, and the grapes are pressed as soon as possible after harvest. Only dry white wines are produced here. Visually, the elegance of Quincy is reflected in its pale gold color. On the nose, this dry white wine offers aromas of boxwood, buds, forest floor, and hints of white flowers. On the palate, it reveals notes of spices, apple, blackcurrant buds, and honey. Its freshness and intense finesse come solely from its single grape variety, Sauvignon. It pairs well with seafood (oysters, shellfish), fish, or regional cheeses.
