Our opinion on the cuvée
This Saffres wine reveals a brilliant ruby color that invites tasting. On the nose, intense aromas of blackberry and blackcurrant emerge, promising a rich sensory experience with fruity flavors. On the palate, the velvety texture and melted tannins offer a pleasant and balanced sensation, highlighting the wine's finesse. The persistent and well-structured finish leaves a fruity impression that will delight lovers of elegant wines.
Domaine du Séminaire is a family vineyard located in Valréas (84600, Vaucluse) in the Enclave des Papes, north of the Rhône Valley. It covers approximately 60 hectares of vines at an altitude of 300 to 400 meters on clay-limestone and 'saffres' soils. Viticulture is organic and close to biodynamic practices. The winery, built in 1938, has been modernized over time, and harvests are manual.
The estate produces red, white, and rosé wines under the Côtes-du-Rhône and Côtes-du-Rhône Villages Valréas appellations, using Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Carignan, Viognier, Roussanne, Marsanne, Clairette, and Grenache Blanc grape varietals. Winemaking prioritizes indigenous yeasts and minimal intervention. The Pouizin family represents the fourth generation of winemakers, and the estate has had a tasting room open since 2007.
