I really like the Father and the Mother, but I have to admit I was a little disappointed by the Heiress.

La Famille K

La Famille K

Beaujolais | France

Located in Beaujolais, at the heart of the Pierres Dorées region, La Famille K is an estate taken over in 2018 by Marianne and Benoît, later joined by their daughter Jeanne. The vineyard spans approximately 12 hectares, distributed across characteristic hillsides of this area with golden limestone soils.

The estate is committed to converting to organic farming. Vineyard work excludes the use of synthetic products, while maintaining a pragmatic and measured approach aimed at protecting grape quality and harvest consistency. This management philosophy seeks natural balances without resorting to a dogmatic application of practices.

In the cellar, winemaking processes are conducted with restraint, prioritizing fruit clarity and drinkability. Sulfite use is limited and adjusted only when necessary to preserve aromatic expression and wine stability. The cuvées are crafted to offer accessible, precise, and origin-consistent profiles.

The entire body of work by La Famille K offers a contemporary and authentic interpretation of Beaujolais, with a focus on the terroirs of Pierres Dorées and a viticulture in transition, resulting in wines built on honesty, balance, and approachability.
