Our opinion on the cuvée
This wine is a true tribute to the Comte de Mareste, boasting an exceptional aromatic profile. On the nose, it reveals notes of white flowers, ripe fruits, and honey, with a subtle smoky hint. On the palate, flavors of sweet almonds and hazelnuts emerge, contributing to a refined and elegant texture. This wine will perfectly complement delicate dishes such as creamy poultry or shellfish.
On the left bank of the Rhône, between the river and Lake Bourget, Domaine Carrel & Senger has been based in Jongieux since 1830—six generations of winemakers on the limestone-marl slopes of Mont du Chat. Now led by Thomas Senger, who brings experience from the LVMH vineyards, the estate cultivates a typical and consistent range of Savoyard grape varieties across 33 hectares.
The estate’s flagship wine: the Cru Marestel, the historic terroir of the Altesse grape, which produces the most structured Roussettes de Savoie. Founded in 2022 in its current form, Domaine Carrel & Senger offers an ideal introduction to the world of Alpine wines—precise, taut, and shaped by altitude and terrain.
