Clos Des Vins d’Amour

Clos Des Vins d’Amour

Roussillon

Located in Roussillon, Clos des Vins d’Amour is a family vineyard whose origins date back to 1860. Currently operated by the Dornier family, the estate spans three major and complementary sectors: Tautavel, Maury, and Saint-Paul-de-Fenouillet, all characterized by demanding schist soils, emblematic of northern Roussillon.

The vineyard is predominantly planted with Grenache (black, grey, and white), complemented by old-vine Carignan, as well as Macabeu and Syrah depending on the plots. These contrasting terroirs allow for a nuanced interpretation of Maury appellations, encompassing both dry wines and vins doux naturels, with a constant focus on balance rather than overt expression.

Organic farming, initiated in 2008, is part of a holistic approach to living organisms. Soil cultivation is primarily manual, attuned to natural rhythms and biodiversity. The objective is not intervention for its own sake, but the pursuit of a sustainable balance between the vine, soil, and climate, an essential condition for the quality of the raw material.

In the cellar, winemaking practices are minimally interventionist. Technical choices aim to preserve the expression of the fruit and the clarity of the terroir, without artifice or excess. Aging processes are adapted to each cuvée, with a clear commitment to producing elegant, refined, and digestible wines, far from demonstrative styles or competition-driven approaches.

Since 2002, the Dornier family has chosen to vinify their entire production in bottles, leaving the cooperative to assert their own identity. Clos des Vins d’Amour is now recognized as a coherent and authentic address in Roussillon, offering wines deeply rooted in their landscape, primarily conceived for the table and sharing, with a precise and respectful interpretation of Maury’s great terroirs.
