Our opinion on the vintage
The wine presents a complex nose, blending notes of spice, licorice, and violet, balanced by aromas of crushed blackberry. On the palate, a beautiful attack unfolds with a subtle hint of rose, followed by a silky texture expressing round, integrated tannins for a controlled power. The texture is pleasing, offering a lovely aromatic persistence. A wine to enjoy now or to cellar for 5 to 6 years.
Located on the hillsides of the Crozes-Hermitage appellation, Domaine du Pavillon spans approximately 14 hectares of vineyards, cultivated on well-exposed slopes on the left bank of the Rhône. This area benefits from a distinct northern Rhône climate, favoring progressive ripening and the preservation of freshness, particularly for Syrah.
Before being dedicated to vines, the site was home to a family farm surrounded by orchards. In the 1960s, the fruit trees gradually gave way to vine plantings, while the farm buildings were converted into a barrel cellar. The estate takes its name from the old hunting lodge overlooking the hillsides, which has become an emblematic landmark of the area.
