Our opinion on the vintage
The wine has a straw-yellow color. On the nose, aromas of peach, lemon, and white flowers are clearly prominent. On the palate, it has a rounded texture with delicate notes of honey, white flowers, and citrus. This wine evokes freshness and sweetness, perfect for pairing with roasted sea bass with cherry tomatoes or a vegetarian ratatouille. Best enjoyed between 8 and 10°C, this wine has an aging potential of 2 years.
Located in Roussillon, at the foot of the Quéribus cliff, Mas Janeil occupies a unique geological position, straddling a fault line that generates a great diversity of soils and subsoils. The vineyard spans highly contrasting plots, mixing granite scree, limestone, schistous areas, and particularly steep terrains, some of which are difficult to access.
The estate is managed by François Lurton, representing the fifth generation of a family of winemakers. Accustomed to working on very different vineyards around the world, he approaches Mas Janeil with an open mind, adapted to the specific constraints of the site. After a period of tenancy, he acquired the best plots of the estate, which today form a total of approximately 30 hectares of vines, complemented by large areas of natural scrubland preserved around the vineyard.
